Still further objects are to provide a hair curler that is very simple'in construction, eflicient in use, easy touse and which may be manufactured at comparatively small cost. g ,With the above and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention consists of the novel construction, adaptation, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and claimed. In the use of our hair curler the clasp 8 is opened to the dotted position shown in Fig. 3 of the drawing. The hair is then curled to around the tubular body 5 after which the clasp is swung to the closed position as most clearly shown in Fig. 3. Itwill be noted that the arms'of the clasp are adapted to swing in a complete circle around the tubular body and the device may therefore be used 0 on either side of the head when curling hair. The air circulating freely through the slots 6 and the open ends of the tubular body soon causes the hair to dry and the device may then be removed. v The most important advantage of our device resides in its function of quickly drying the hair due to the free circulation of air P u arly useful in beauty shops and th like for the reason that hair is curled much quicker by its use than by means of the old type of closed curlers heretofore in use and which require considerable time for the hair to dry before they can be removed. In removing our device from the hair the clasp 8 is swung to the outward position by grasping .the loop end 13 with the fingers, and thus when the arms 10 release their hold on the hair the tubular body 5 may be readily slipped out leaving the hair in a nicely curled condition.

Having thus described our invention, it being understood that minor changes in its con struction and arrangement may be resorted to without departing from the scope and spirit oft e invention, what we claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is :v t

1. A hair curler having in combination a hollow cylindrical body open at both ends and having a plurality of apertures distributed over its surface, a loop clasp member having its ends pivotally connected to one end portion of thebody at diametrically opposite points, said clasp member arranged to longitudinally embrace the body in spaced apart relation therefrom in the closed position, securing means for'the clasp, and said clasp adapted to be swung in a complete circle longitudinally around the body.

2. A- hair curler having in combination an open end tubular body with air passages dis tributed over its surface, a loop clasp comprising a pair of'arms disposed in spaced apart parallel relation with the body on opk posite sides thereof in the closed position, the ends of said arms ivoted to one end portion of said body, and the loop end portion of said arms deflected inwardly to engage into notches on the other end of the body.
