Scientific Description:

Ascending or erect annual or biennial, 20−60 cm. Stipules ovate-oblong, the free portion abruptly acuminate-aristate. Leaflets 1−2 cm, obovate to rhomboid. Inflorescence globular to ovoid, (1−)1.5−2.0 cm wide, sessile. Calyx tube 10-nerved; throat open with a ring of intruding hairs, patulous-hairy; teeth ± equal or the lowest one the longest, 3−5-veined at base, c. 3/2 × as long as tube, blunt. Corolla white or cream with pinkish tips, c. 13 mm, 3/2−3 × as long as the calyx.

 

Flowering time: May − July.

Habitat: Grassy places, rocks and boulders, s.l.-350 m.

Public Description:

Trifolium pallidum, known as “soluk üçgül” in Turkish, is native to Türkiye, Italy, the Balkans and North Africa. It is an annual or biennial herb with white or cream flowers, and grows up to 60 cm in length. It blooms between May and July and is found in grassy places, rocks and boulders.
