Neottia ovata is the most wide-spread orchid in France. Formerly known as Listera ovata, this species has recently been integrated into genus Neottia according to molecular biology studies.

It can be found practically everywhere whatever the substrate. Although it is high, it remains discreet due to its uniformly green colour and its slender look melting within the surrounding vegetation.
This flower likes shady places and can be found in underwoods or in hedges. The most visible part remains its two very spread and bright green leaves.

It blooms from May to June.
