Description
This deciduous suckering shrub has maple shaped leaves and grows in sun to shade. Fragrant purple rose-like flowers in spring and summer give way to edible fruit. A valuable plant for pollinators, butterflies, and birds, it’s also used for nesting material for beneficial native bees. Rubus is larval host to 162 species of butterflies and moths.
