Abstract :

A new species to the Bulgarian flora is reported--Trinia multicaulis (Apiaceae). It is a Pontic geoelement with a mostly sporadic distribution in the steppe habitats in Eastern Europe. In Bulgaria it has been recorded in 5 localities in North-East Bulgaria and Danubian Plain floristic regions. The main distinguishing morphological characters of the taxon as well as data about the distribution, habitats and populations are presented. The conservation status is evaluated. Key words: Apiaceae, Bulgaria, pontic geoelement, Trinia multicaulis
