Ford Figo Aspire launched starting at Rs 4.89 lakh

Compared to other compact-sedans, the Figo Aspire undoubtedly looks much more appealing and is a well-proportionate design. The front end of the new sedan sports a large Aston-Martin-esque chrome lined grille, swept-back headlamps, a prominent power dome on the hood and a nicely sculpted bumper design. Move on to the side and you will notice 14-inch 8-spoke alloy wheels, dual-tone indicator-integrated ORVM covers, partially black-taped B-pillar, gently rising window-line with a stubby boot, which gel together in a neat and unfussy manner. At the rear, one-piece tail-lamps along with a prominent chrome line running across the boot-lid and a boot-lip spoiler complete the design highlights of the car.

Inside the cabin, you get dual-tone black-and-beige theme with a dashboard design layout that is similar to the Fiesta or the EcoSport. That said, the Figo Aspire comes with some unique elements on the inside like multiple-storage pockets and MyFord Dock, which is a clever placement for charging or viewing your smartphone or GPS device on the centre console. Among other bits, the top-end version of the car comes with leather upholstery, fabric door inserts, multi-function steering wheel, automatic air-conditioning, Ford SYNC with AppLink connectivity etc.

A total of three engine options are available in the new Figo Aspire- two petrol and one diesel. The petrol range starts with a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT engine developing 88PS @ 6,300rpm and 112Nm @ 4,000rpm with an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.16 km/l. The diesel variants are powered by a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel motor producing 100PS @ 3,750rpm and 215Nm @ 1,750-3,000rpm with an ARAI-certified efficiency of 25.83 km/l. Both these engines are offered with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Ford is also offering a more powerful 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol motor developing 112PS @ 6,300rpm and 136Nm @ 4,250rpm paired to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It has a claimed efficiency of 17.0 km/l.

Ford has equipped the Figo Aspire with a plethora of features on the inside and out.

In addition to that, Ford has done a commendable job in terms of passenger safety as driver and passenger airbags come fitted as standard across the entire Figo Aspire range. The top of the line variant is in fact offered with six-airbags, which is a first-in-class safety feature. Among other safety features, ABS with EBD, Hill-Assist, Emergency Assistance etc., are also available in the Figo Aspire.

The Figo Aspire is available in four variants, namely, Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+. The variant wise pricing of the Figo Aspire is as follows:
