Introduced annual or short-lived perennial forb, prostrate, stems to 20cm long. Leaves alternating along the stems, compound, composed of 3 leaflets, each leaflet 0.4-1.4cm long, 3-8mm wide, flat, hairless or sparsely hairy, margins toothed, tips blunt or notched. Flowers white or pink, pea-shaped, with 5 petals, 2 almost joined together. Flowers in 1-5 flowered loose clusters, the stalks arising from the bases of the leaves.
