Although we were only able to know Kathy these last few years, we enjoyed having her as our neighbor and friend. She was always so friendly and nice to our children, checking on their school or buying them popscicles - even saving special Halloween candy for them. She will be missed.

Kathy was a gem of a sister-in-law: kind, generous, quick to laugh (at you or herself - it didn't matter much to her!), and a darned good cook!! She was quick to make lemonade out of lemons, which is always appreciated. One of my favorite pictures of Kathy is from our wedding where she was caught reaching up to catch the wedding bouquet ... and she got it!! Then she turned around and married Mick's brother, Tom. It's comforting to think of her and Tom together again, as they should be.

At a time like this, its impossible not to feel shock, sadness and loss, depression, anger or regret. The sibling bond is a special relationship. It permits a brother and sister to sometimes be at odds, sometimes be indifferent and sometimes to be very close. Kathy and I were all of that! She was 76 and I am 73. She loved to refer to me as her "baby brother". She knew I hated that. As I think back, I can't remember the last time she called me that. How can you compress a lifetime of memories into just a few sentences? Its impossible. But there are two events that I remember. One was a single "hug" in the late 1960s while on leave from the Air Force and the other on top of Pikes Peak a dozen years ago. I'll always remember them. Kathy had a BiG heart who was caring and considerate to all. Forever thoughtful and loving to her family. She lived for her kids and grandkids. Nothing made her happier. I'll miss you! Peace be with you, Kath. With Love, your "baby brother".
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I only knew Mrs. Dudy through her daughter Carolyn, and that is enough to let me know that she was an amazing person. I treasure the stories of her kindness and care for others. Extending my deepest condolences to the entire family on this huge loss.
