Lavatera thuringiaca ‘Barnsley’

I vividly recall that this was considered by many in Europe to be one of the best new plant introductions of the nineteen eighties. We haven’t listed it since 1997 in an age when our mail order catalogues had a plain cover and not a single photograph. Exuberant in growth, making two metres in height and one and a half metres in width in a season and generous in flower, freely producing large pure white, ageing to pink, hollyhock-like flowers from late spring until winter. Tough and sun loving to 200cm.
