Chaerophyllum hirsutum is a pretty perennial plant, similar to cow parsley or Queen Anne's lace. It has fern-like, finely divided and aromatic foliage, and delicate umbels of small white or pink flowers. Chaerophyllum hirsutum 'Roseum' bears masses of lilac-pink flowers in late spring or early summer.
Chaerophyllum hirsutum 'Roseum' is a stout Umbellifer with quite a distinctive colouring. The leaves are soft and hairy in a similar manner to Sweet Cicely and apple green in colour. The flowers are sugary pink in close umbels, tighter than a Cow Parsley. Growing to 1 m (3.3 ft) tall, this herbaceous perennial resembles cow parsley, with apple-scented ferny foliage and umbels of white flowers in May and June. Its native range is Central and Southern Europe to Ukraine.
