Banskyland, the coveted travelling art exhibition featuring works by world-renowned graffiti artist Banksy, is set to land in Toronto as part of a 22-stop international tour.

The exhibit will be in town Aug. 25-27, with a finite number of tickets available.

In true Banksy style, the location will only be revealed to ticket holders one to two weeks prior to its opening.

The Bristol-born graffiti artist’s work is as distinct and provocative as he is elusive and mysterious. Known for embellishing garish street corners and unremarkable slabs of pavement with his adept and striking brand of social commentary, Banksy’s works are a sight to behold.

One of Banksy’s most iconic pieces is “ There is Always Hope,” more often referred to as “Girl with Balloon.” Originally traced on Waterloo Bridge at London’s South Bank, though it no longer remains, the image depicts a small child reaching for a heart-shaped balloon and is widely believed to represent an innocent and hopeful rebellion in the face of a violent world order.

“Well Hung Lover,” also called “Naked Man Hanging From Window” or simply “Naked Man,” remains in Banksy’s home town of Bristol on a wall on Frogmore St., though it has been defaced multiple times over the years.

Banksyland Toronto will feature more than 80 pieces and installations, including original and studio works, recovered street artworks, and exclusive immersive installations.

Time slots for the exhibition are still available and tickets can be purchased here.
