Determined according to the botanical key provided by Micevski in Micevski (1995).

Lifeform: Annual; Therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from south U.S.A. to northeast Mexico; introduced in the rest of the world, according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Disturbed ground, alongside roads, in and near settlements, cultivated land and other ruderal areas.

Flowering period: Late summer – fall: AUG, SEP, OCT.
