Taxonomy: Fam. Plumbaginaceae// Genus: Armeria// Species: Armeria rumelica Boiss.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski, 1995).

Lifeform: Perrenial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to the Balkan Peninsula according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Domina, 2011+) and the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Open habitats – grasslands, pastures, rocky terrains, river gorges, sparse woods and edges of forests from the lowest parts up to the subalpine belt.

Flowering period: Late spring – summer depending on altitude: MAY, JUN, JUL.
