Determined according to the botanical key provided by Micevski (1995) as Alyssum saxatile subsp. orientale (Ard.) Rech. fil., Ann. Naturh. Mus. (Wien) 43: 200 (1929) = syn. Alyssum orientale Ard., Animad. Bot. Spec. Alt. 2: 32 (1764). The accepted name in The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Marhold, 2011+) is Auriniasaxatilis subsp. orientalis (Ard.) T. R. Dudley in J. Arnold Arbor. 45: 394. 1964.
Lifeform: Perennial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Distribution: Native from the Balkan Peninsula to Turkey according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew) and The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Marhold, 2011+).
Habitat: Found on rocks – rocky terrains, rock cliffs and river gorges.
Flowering period: Spring: APR, MAY.
