According to The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Domina & Raab-Straube, 2010+) this name is a synonym of Phelipanche purpurea (Jacq.) Soják in Čas. Nár. Mus., Odd. Přír. 140: 130. 1972.
Lifeform: Obligate root parasite.
Host: Parasitizes on Achillea spp. and other members of Compositae. The pictured plants were found on Achillea coarctata as host.
Distribution: Native to Canary Islands, Northwest Africa, Europe to the Mediterranean and West Himalaya according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).
Flowering period: Late spring – early summer: MAY, JUN.
