They seem to have built a bridge over troubled family waters: Miley Cyrus and her dad Billy Ray Cyrus reunited at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday.

Sitting in the front row, Billy Ray, Miley and her younger sister Noah were the picture of a loving family. Billy Ray was spotted cheering on his eldest daughter and snapped photos of her while she gave her acceptance speech. Earlier in the night, Miley leaned on his shoulder as he gave her a supportive hug.

The father-daughter night out was a big change from where their relationship seemed to stand in June.

After her parents called it quits for the second time that month, Miley spent the bulk of her time with Noah and their mom Tish. Weeks after Tish filed for divorce, the estranged couple were spotted together at a pizza joint with Noah. Notably absent? Miley.

On June 24, she Tweeted – and quickly deleted – a photo of herself with one of Billy Ray’s Chicago costars. It included the warning: “since you won’t reply to my texts I’m giving you an hour to tell the truth or I’ll tell it for you.”

When asked how she was coping with her parents’ relationship issues, Cyrus said she worried about Noah. “I’m more concerned for my sister. She’s 13,” she said during her summer radio promo tour.

In July, Tish and Billy Ray officially called off their divorce.

“We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together,” they said in a statement. “We both went into couples therapy something we haven’t done in 22 years of being together, and it’s brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways.”
