Nile Rodgers & CHIC have shared the first official single from their new album It’s About Time. It’s called “Till the World Falls,” and it features Vic Mensa, Mura Masa, and Cosha (fka Bonzai). It was produced by Rodgers and Mura Masa, and written by Rodgers, Mura Masa, Anderson .Paak, anaïs, Vic Mensa, and NAO. Listen to it below.
It’s About Time marks CHIC’s first album in 26 years. It arrives on September 14 (the release date has been pushed back from September 7.) Rodgers brought Mura Masa and NAO with him to perform “Till the World Falls” and another new song, “Boogie All Night,” on “Later… With Jools Holland” earlier this month.
“Anderson .Paak and I were at Abbey Road [Studios] for three days,” Rodgers told Pitchfork about the recording process. “We had just three days booked to just jam and write songs and just do whatever we felt. And we cut a bunch of different tracks, a bunch of ideas. One of them, certainly, is on his new record. “Till the World Falls” is on my new record. We also have some cuts that are going in other really big projects, which unfortunately I'm under NDA and I can't mention them. Anderson Paak is just a genius, and working with him was, as I say, smooth as a gravy sandwich.”
