False Indigo

A fast growing evergreen shrub that grows up to twelve feet high and fifteen feet wide.  Purple and yellow flowers bloom in spring and winter.  Deciduous in winter.

Plant with: 

California Wild Rose (Rosa californica). Other companions could include Meadow Rue (Thalictrum fendleri), Snowdrop Bush (Styrax officinalis), Common Snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus), Yellow Monkeyflower (Mimulus guttatus), Western Azalea (Rhododendron occidentale), Brown Dogwood (Cornus glabrata) and Huckleberry (Vaccinum ovatum)

- Plant in full sun to shade

- Best in slow draining soil, tolerates most soils

- Drought tolerant in partial shade

- Attracts butterflies

- Hardy up to 30 degrees
