Congrats on the spawns. Should be interesting to see if the females slow in grow at all - or not grow as large. From my experience - females that spawn young don't always reach their full growth potential.

Yes, that is true. I´ve had several females like that. I have a golden that spawn early and she is still rather small after three years.

I saw my mbunas hunting some red fin fry today, and the female is no longer holding. She was only holding for 16 days. I was planing to take her out day 18. Well better luck next time I guess. The other female was only holding for about a week.

That's too bad, but it might not be a bad thing for the female's health this early on. Plus now you don't have to try to catch her!
