No. 13 Wrestling loses at No. 11 Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – No. 13 Rutgers wrestling (10-2, 3-1) lost 23-10 to No. 11 Michigan (5-2, 3-1) on Sunday afternoon in Ann Arbor. The Scarlet Knights picked up wins from No. 9 John Poznanski (197), No. 19 Jackson Turley (174) and Michael Cetta (149) against the Wolverines at the Crisler Center. The loss snapped an eight-match winning streak for RU as it enters the final stretch of its dual schedule.
 
Rutgers wrestled tough to open the dual, with No. 13 Dean Peterson (125), No. 8 Dylan Shawver (133) and No. 11 Mitch Moore (141) all losing tight decisions to ranked foes. Shawver picked up the first takedown of the day in an 8-5 loss to No. 6 Dylan Ragusin, while Moore forced sudden victory before a last second takedown from No. 25 Sergio Lemley made it 9-0 Wolverines through the first three bouts.
 
Cetta delivered a win over Fidel Mayora for RU's first of the afternoon, landing takedowns in the first and third periods en route to a 10-4 decision. A major-decision loss from Al DeSantis (157) to No. 9 Will Lewan made it 13-3 Michigan at intermission.
 
Luke Gayer (165) wrestled tough in his 4-1 loss in sudden victory to three-time All-American No. 7 Cameron Amine before Turley followed with a dominant 5-0 decision over Joseph Walker. Turley collected more than three minutes of riding time in the win, which made it just a 16-6 score with three bouts to go.
 
Michigan secured the dual thanks to a major decision from No. 15 Jaden Bullock over No. 20 Brian Soldano (184). Poznanski landed three takedowns against Rylan Rogers for a 11-3 major decision before No. 7 Yaraslau Slavikouski (HWT) suffered his first loss of the season by 4-0 decision to No. 4 Lucas Davison.
