  2. Crisp and Flavorful: They bring to your plate a zesty onion taste, perfect for salads, stir-fries, or even grilled to perfection.
  3. Tailored for Cold: Specifically adapted to handle cooler climates, they are ideal companions for the Alaskan gardener.
  4. Vigorous Growth: Robust and quick to sprout, you’ll have a bounty before you know it.

Planting Guide: Sow your Evergreen Hardy White Onion seeds in a sunny spot, ensuring well-draining soil. Regular watering and a watchful eye are all it takes to see them thrive in Alaska’s unique environment.

Roughly 100 seeds per packet

TRANSPLANTING:

  1. Plant 6–8 seeds in each cell of a 72-cell tray. Do this at the same time you’d plant bulbing onions.
  2. Once they grow, move the young plants so they’re 6–8″ apart in rows that are 18″ apart.

For Thicker Scallions:

  1. Start by planting in flat trays.
  2. When they’re about the thickness of a pencil (8–18″ tall), transplant them outside.
  3. Space them 6″ apart in rows 24″ apart.
  4. Dig holes about 6″ deep to plant them.
  5. Make sure only 1–2″ of the green leafy part is above the soil.
  6. Don’t pack the soil tight. Watering or rain will settle the soil in the hole.
