Edward Burtynsky is a Canadian-Ukrainian photographer who captures human activity on Earth that's normally too big to perceive, except through aerial photography.

His scenes of rapid industrialisation and large-scale pollution characterise the Anthropocene, the idea that we are in the age of man-made environmental crisis. So how does he pick his monumental subjects? And what has he witnessed over his 40-year career?

Get back to The Drawing Board… with hands! They are the most innately familiar feature of the human body, so why are hands so hard to draw?!  Many of us end up drawing a bunch of bananas or a fistful of sausages. Lily Mae Martin and Daniel discuss how to draw this complex piece of anatomy, and why for an artist, hands are an almost spiritual subject matter.

Burning Man is a huge art and cultural gathering in the Nevada desert, USA. It's where Australian sculptor Clayton Blake has made epic public art about consumerism and environmental destruction. Closer to home, Clayton's work can be seen at Swell sculpture festival in Queensland.
