It's been a busy year so far for Lindsay Lohan. Though she's been sitting out awards season for the most part, she kicked off her 2024 at the Mean Girls red carpet to honor the new set of Plastics. After that it was New York Fashion Week, then the premiere of her new Netflix film, Irish Wish. Now, just a few days later, Lohan helped celebrate Hollywood's biggest night at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscars After Party.
Once all the awards were given out—including Billie Eilish's second Oscar, Emma Stone's second Best Actress win, Da'Vine Joy Randolph's very first Academy Award, and Oppenhiemer's sweep—all the biggest stars headed to the prestigious afterparty. Sydney Sweeney was there, as were Ariana Greenblatt and Lindsay Lohan, who attended the event dressed to perfection, down to her "loose and elegant waves."
To go with her silver Balenciaga gown—a strapless, off-the-shoulder, trailing dress made of sequin fringe that bounced and flowed as she walked—Lohan turned to hairstylist Danielle Priano to coif her golden amber hair to wavy perfection.
Priano exclusively tells Byrdie that the inspo for the look was "loose and elegant waves that would compliment her shimmering Balenciaga dress." The hairstylist turned to TRESemmé products and Hairitage tools for the classic look.
To achieve the look—a picture-perfect middle part with voluminous bounce and camera-light-reflecting shine—Priano started by detangling Lohan's damp hair. Once detangled, she used theTRESemmé Keratin Smooth Weightless Perfecting Leave-In-Lotion ($8) "to hydrate the hair," and then added the Keratin Heat Fortifying Protection Spray ($8) so Lohan's hair would stay shiny as she dried it with the Hairitage Comin' In Hot Hair Dryer ($40).
Priano says these are some of her "hero products" for Linday's look, giving her "instant silky soft hair" on top of "a lasting shine for the afterparty."
Once Lohan's hair was completely dry, Priano sprayed Keratin Smooth Weightless Silky Shine Spray ($8)—another hero product of hers—in order "to prep for the blowout using the Hairitage Up In The Air Volumizing Brush ($40)."
Then, she added more waves and volume with extensions. After she sectioned Lohan's hair, "starting from above the nape of her neck," she added "two rows of Hidden Crown Light Auburn ($314) in Seamless Weft 24 to add a bit of volume." Noting that "each extension was about one inch apart."
For some finishing touches on the waves "to give movement to the hair," Priano used the Hairitage Triple Threat All-Purpose Hair Detangling Brush ($10) to "brush seamlessly brush through the waves to create an effortless glamour look." She adds that anyone looking to achieve the look at home should use a tool like this with heat protectant for an easy DIY "elegant and effortless wave" look.
However, she had one last step before Lohan could hit the carpet—setting the waves with a bit more hairspray, and then the icon was ready to party.
