This quick-growing annual from California is one of those many plants that appears unjustly neglected. Although offered in many seed catalogues, one rarely actually sees it growing in a garden, yet this beautiful little plant is one of the most free-flowering annuals in cultivation. The white, yellow-centred, saucer-shaped flowers are delicately scented and beloved of bees. Hardy throughout the British Isles. 6ins (15cm)

    Cheerful and sunny faces

I love these plants and grow them every year as they don't self-seed in my clay soil. Their cheerful little faces are a real mood booster and the bees love them.

    Germination Instructions

Sow indoors Feb-Mar or directly Apr-May. Indoors sow onto the surface of moist well-drained seed compost. Cover with a fine layer of soil. Ideal temp. 16°C. Germination takes 14-20 days. Keep moist during germination. When large enough to handle transplant seedlings to 8cm pots. Plant out once danger of frost has passed. Growing Instructions
