Viburnum rhytidophyllum - Leatherleaf Viburnum
Viburnum rhytidophyllum is a large evergreen shrub, that provides year-round foliage and spring flowers. It was first introduced to the UK in 1900, and became a popular variety due to it’s uniqueness and capability to grow much larger than other Viburnums.
Viburnum rhytidophyllum produces domed heads of fragrant white flowers in the late spring. These contrast beautifully with the dark, glossy green oblong leaves that are prominently veined and felted grey beneath.
When planted in mixed boarders and woodland gardens, it will provide valuable year round structure, interest and colour.
