Miller's Girl's intimacy coordinator has defended the sex scenes between Jenna Ortega and Martin Freeman in the film.
The new erotic thriller, which stars the Wednesday and Black Panther actors, follows the relationship between an 18-year-old student and her teacher.
Miller's Girl was released in US cinemas last month, and there was backlash from some viewers about sex scenes between Ortega and Freeman’s characters, considering the three-decade age gap between the actors.

However, the film's intimacy coordinator, Kristina Arjona, has defended these scenes in an interview with the Daily Mail, outlining the measures that were put in place during filming to make sure Ortega was comfortable.
She said: "There was many, many people throughout the process, engaging with [Jenna] to make sure that it was consistent with what she was comfortable with, and she was very determined and very sure of what she wanted to do.
"Part of my job too is supporting her decisions. I adapt to whatever is the comfort level of my actors, especially on a production like this where there is a large age gap between the actors."
Arjona continued: "For this film, in particular, because of the sensitivity of the content, they had some different variations of how they wanted to shoot these scenes so that audiences could watch them at test screenings to see what was too much."

The film has received poor reviews from critics and currently has a score of 31% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the worst-reviewed movies of Ortega and Freeman's careers.
The synopsis for Miller's Girl reads: "A talented young writer (Ortega) embarks on a creative odyssey when her teacher (Freeman) assigns a project that entangles them both in an increasingly complex web.
"As lines blur and their lives intertwine, professor and protégé must confront their darkest selves while straining to preserve their individual sense of purpose and the things they hold most dear."
Miller's Girl will be released digitally in the US on February 16 and in the UK on February 19.
