Siberian spurge, Euphorbia seguieriana subsp. niciciana, is a particularly handsome spurge, with an upright, bushy habit. Its delicate, blue-green leaves grow on reddish stems, and its contrasting lime-green flowers appear from late spring until the first frosts. It’s the perfect foil for bold colours such as reds and purples, and also works well with ornamental grasses. It makes an excellent cut flower.
Grow Euphorbia seguieriana subsp. niciciana in moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Remove faded flowers throughout the growing season and cut back after blooming. Always wear gloves when working with spurges, as the milky sap is a skin irritant and can damage your eyes.
