GoldenRod Fishing Charters, LLC. is owned and managed by Captain Jason Whitfield. Both Jason and his wife, Kim, are third generation members of families entrenched in the fishing industry. Jason grew up commercial fishing with his dad, Capt. Mike Whitfield, and Kim grew up fishing when she could on Captain Davis Queen Fleet headboats owned by her dad, Grover Davis, and his brothers, "Duck," and Joe Ed.
As things go now, Jason can be found at the helm of the 42' Sally D. He loves running his new boat, not to mention soaking up the air conditioning as he sits in the air ride captain's chair. Kim helps out with reservations as needed and handles marketing and bookkeeping.

We specialize in family-oriented fishing trips and we love to introduce kids to the sport of fishing. Our best memories are fishing adventures we shared with our son and his little buddies as they were growing up. Along the way, Colby Clark, the token non-Floridian, was added to the team. He completes the GoldenRod family and works the deck on the Sally D, zipping around like the Road Runner.
We use light tackle, which is easier for children to handle, and it intensifies and prolongs the action for adults and experienced anglers. Capt. Jason Whitfield has over 25 years of experience taking people fishing. When the time is right, we can target fish for amberjack, snapper, grouper, triggerfish, mackerel, sharks, beeliners, and more.
