Features and uses:

The cylindrical Imperata Red Baron originates from Southeast Asia, is a rhizome and belongs to the Poaceae family.
This ornamental grass is one of the most widely sold in the collection of Gregio VIvai, in fact thanks to the color of its leaves is really very decorative.

Its long, flat and thin leaves are on the brilliant green base as they turn red at the end of the fire. As the autumn approaches, the red becomes darker.
Its pumice inflorescence is brown / beige and should appear between August and October, but in this cultivar it is not produced very often.

The cylindrical embankment can usually reach 2 mt, but not this variety, infatuated with the Red Baron cylindrical Imperata is more compact and usually does not exceed 1 m high.

It appreciates sunny positions but also adapts very well in half shade; it is recommended to plant it in a well-drained soil, but it is perfectly able to tolerate also soils with different characteristics.
Excellent in drought situations, it responds well to the need for a little challenging garden, in addition to not requiring constant irrigation, it does not require fertilization or maintenance.

It is indicated in small gardens or in large green areas, or it can be kept in pots or planters to furnish patios and terraces.

To create a garden of effect it is sufficient to cultivate the different cultivars. Along with the Emperate cylindrical Red Baron, for example, you can combine the Pennisetum Orientale, the Miscanthus Grosse Fountains, the Panicum Prairie Sky or the Pyroma Pleioblastus Pygmaeus.
