Think of early-aughts trends, and Nicole Richie's earliest red carpet looks probably come to mind. In spite of the nostalgia reviving scarf tops and trucker hats, Richie’s 2021 fashion philosophy is more about looking inward than looking back. “As I have evolved, so has my need to always feel like my full self,” she tells BAZAAR.com. “I focus less on trends or executing a certain look, and lean more into using getting dressed as a form of self-expression.”
For Richie, the ultimate self-expression comes from discovering hidden gems like vintage sunglasses (“you probably won’t find anyone else who has them,” she explains). She also channels her inner style into House of Harlow 1960, the fashion label she’s led since 2008. House of Harlow’s latest collection, in collaboration with Revolve, showcases a few themes dominating Richie’s personal style of late: the natural world, menswear tailoring, and seventies lux lounge, she says.
Rich colors and modern bohemia define a few of Richie’s favorite items from House of Harlow this season. They’re also found in the beauty and home items Richie can’t stop buying. Get a taste of Richie's thoroughly modern obsessions with her Lucky 13 shopping picks, ahead.
