Description ²

• Fronds: single, 1 inch wide, 3 inches long, leaflets fan shaped
• Spores: fertile frond 1-4 times as long as sterile frond, spores develop along branches in small, round capsules
• Fruiting season: July - August
• Habitat: prairies, wetlands, abandoned mine sites, forest interiors
