Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert Finally Gave Us the ‘Mean Girls’ Reunion We’ve Been Needing

The only thing missing was a Regina George cameo.

Get in, losers — the Mean Girls cast is going shopping.

On Monday, several members of the original Mean Girls cast reunited for the first time in nine years for Walmart’s new Black Friday campaign, and we’re not OK. In the commercial, Lindsay Lohan’s Cady Heron, Amanda Seyfried’s Karen Smith, and Lacey Chabert’s Gretchen Wieners — along with Daniel Franzese’s Damien and Rajiv Surendra’s Kevin Gnapoor — returned to North Shore High’s hallowed halls, where a new group of Plastics have taken over.

“At North Shore, some things never change. On Wednesdays, we still wear pink,” Lohan says in the voiceover before Chabert pulls up in a convertible full of Walmart bags to add, “Get in sweetie, we’re going deals shopping!”

The video then cuts to Seyfried on a football field, who says, “Karen Smith here with the weather. There’s a 30% chance that it’s already Wednesday,” as a play on her famous ESPN bit from the original film.

Other nods to the classic Y2K film included a look at Surendra’s Gnapoor as a father, a moment where Cady Heron’s students don’t understand the phrase “grool,” and even a modern-day version of the Plastics’ iconic “Jingle Bell Rock” performance.

But aside from serving as a source of nostalgia for the masses (and a reminder to start curating our holiday shopping lists, like, ASAP), several Mean Girls cast members also told People that filming the campaign was just as nostalgic for them.

“It was so nice being back together after all these years. It was great catching up with everyone,” Lohan shared of the filming process, with Chabert adding, “It was wonderful to spend the day with Amanda and Lindsay and it was so much fun getting to reminisce and be together again.”

Franzese agreed, explaining, “What better time to get together than right before the holidays? I know we are excited for everyone to see what we've all been up to. Walmart made it so special by allowing us to have fun together while getting to do a new project that spreads excitement. There's something here for everyone (except for Gretchen Wieners).”
