MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR! ALCHEMISTS EXPERIMENT No. 2019. oil on wood, 60 x 73 cm. A tribute to Rudolf II, Holy Roman Emperor, who was an important patron of art, science, astronomy and alchemy. He is accompanied of Tycho de Brahe, a Danish nobleman and one oft he most famous astronomers. Since Tycho lost a large part of his nose in a duel, he wore a gold nasal prosthesis, which makes him appear mysterious.
