💘 Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and it offers bakers plenty of opportunities to get creative with patisserie 💘 However, it can also be a challenging event for time poor operators to take advantage of, with the window of opportunity to offer seasonal products very small compared to Christmas or Easter. So, what quick and easy solutions can operators take advantage of? 🧁 In patisserie, it can be as simple as swapping out a topping on a regular cupcake or brownie for Valentine’s themed toppings such as chocolate or fondant icing love heart decorations. Or, operators can introduce a special flavour for Valentine’s week such as a classic red velvet sponge, or a white chocolate cake layered with strawberry buttercream. 🍰 Another great way is to utilise part finished bakes, which allow operators to get creative with decorations in a cost-effective way which doesn’t lead to excess waste. At Wrights we’re seeing customers buy our part-finished cakes frozen from wholesale and baking them off subject to their requirements. These cakes are a great quality base which can be finished with ingredients such as fruit, ganache, jams and a wide range of toppings to give them an artisanal feel, offering the perfect solution for seasonal specials for Valentine’s Day. #Foodservice #Patisserie #Cakes #Bakery

As Pancake Day approaches, it's the perfect moment to stir the batter of knowledge and clarify a common culinary conundrum - the difference between crepes and pancakes. While both are beloved breakfast and dessert staples around the globe, discerning the subtle distinctions can enhance your Pancake Day experience. British palates, in particular, have a penchant for pancakes, but a well-prepared crepe can equally titillate the taste buds. Crepes, originating from France, are renowned for their paper-thin consistency, achieved by a batter that is typically made with flour, milk, and eggs. This liquid concoction is poured evenly onto a hot surface and spread thinly to create a delicate, almost lace-like texture 🥞. In contrast, British pancakes share a closer kinship to their French counterparts than the thicker, fluffier American pancakes, yet they still possess a slight elevation and tenderness in their bite. The British version generally includes a rising agent such as baking powder, resulting in a heartier treat that eagerly soaks up syrup, lemon juice, or a sprinkle of sugar. Understanding these nuances not only satisfies culinary curiosity but also shapes our cultural appreciation and menu choices. Whether you opt for the elegance of crepes or the comforting embrace of a classic British pancake, the key is to relish each bite and the traditions they represent. As we prepare to celebrate Pancake Day, may your skillets be hot and your flips be flawless. Remember, it's not just about the food, it's about the experience and the memories created around the table. #PancakeDay2024 #CrepesVsPancakes #BritishCuisine

Honey, faux cakes are just NOT the way!👀 People often assume that creating a faux cake is a great way to save money, and that's simply not true!🎂 It's the same way that it's often assumed that a buffet is cheaper than a plated meal when it really can go either way.🍽 A plated meal can even be cheaper because your caterers know the exact number of food served per plate. Faux cakes still require the time and effort put into a normal cake.🤑The cake still has to be designed and crafted to look like your desired cake, whether it's edible or not. I suggest having a one or two-tier cake to cut into and photograph. Then have a sheet cake to meet the catering numbers of your wedding.👰🏽 Or add the cake to the rest of your dessert table! You still get gorgeous photos of your cake and the special moment of cutting the cake without spending a small fortune. It's a delicious money-saver!🐝 #floridaweddingplanner #weddingplanner #weddingcake
