Pentaglottis sempervirens

Plant Description

Five petaled blue flowers with white centers, petals fused at the base. Terminal and axillary flower clusters have leaf-like bracts below them. Egg-shaped alternate leaves with pointed tips, smaller higher up the plant.

Distribution west of the Cascades from BC to California
Control When soil is moist, dig up plants, removing as much of taproot as possible, as fragments can resprout. Follow up by monitoring the site for seedlings.

Look Alikes Annual bugloss (Anchusa arvensis), common bugloss (Anchusa officinalis), blueweed (Echium vulgare), borage, houndstongue, comfrey
