Building bridges to the world of music

2023/24 | 2024/25

The Musikverein offers an extensive program for all school levels – from preschool and elementary to middle and secondary schools. At staged or moderated concerts, encounters with our artists and presentations of the in-house music collection, we build bridges to the world of music.

Music collection sets a precedent

The Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde and its house, the Musikverein, have written music history: in an exchange with Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms was “Artistic Director”, Anton Bruckner taught, Gustav Mahler conducted, and Johann Strauss held his concerts here. Archive director Johannes Prominczel takes school classes on a journey through the past using original music manuscripts and unique objects from one of the world’s most important music collections
