And to clarify: When walking, you always have at least one foot on the ground. When running, you have at most one foot on the ground, and at times none. The line between "jumping" and "running" might be fuzzy, but there's clearly a difference between that and walking.

I'm going to break my own rule here, but running is incredibly difficult, and anyone who says it isn't a sport hasn't attempted to run a significant distance in their life. Seven miles at just a constant 7 mph is INTENSE.
I would also argue that running breeds elitists. Most runners begin because they like how it feels--the endorphin rush of a good Runner's High feels amazing. It's also not much of a "team" sport--runners are happy to give advice if you have questions, but there are definitely some taboo topics--running on treadmills being a primary one.

I definitely think Running is a sport, no doubt. When I was talking about being in disbelief of elitists I was referring to the act itself, not the competitive version that would make most peoples' hearts explode.
Sucks about Treadmills though, I find them and elipticals indispensable in the winter.
She's quite muscular, man. Muscles need a lot of fuel to stay firm and strong.
If you don't eat a lot you get skinny, but also get weak with no energy to work out.
