The result of two years of development, the Mont Blanc BOA is a revolutionary shoe built to handle everything a runner might face on all-day trail excursions.
Expertly integrated onto the Mont Blanc BOA, the BOA Fit System delivers a precision fit that allows runners to adjust on the fly, accommodating changes in foot size, weather conditions, and terrain throughout a run. Altra worked closely with researchers in the BOA Performance Fit Lab leveraging scientifically validated performance benefits to develop the dual-dial BOA PerformFit Wrap configuration featured on the Mont Blanc BOA.
“Extensive testing in the lab and on trails indicates that by locking down the heel, BOA PerformFit Wrap configurations enable increased foot speed and improved ankle stability,” said Dan Feeney, director of BOA’s Performance Fit Lab and biomechanics research. “We also conducted test sessions with Altra athletes to ensure the performance-enhancing benefits of the BOA Fit System on the Altra Mont Blanc exceed the needs and desires of ultrarunners taking on high mileage and technical terrain.”
The Mont Blanc BOA also features Altra’s signature Balanced Cushioning platform and Footshape Toe Box, which positions the heel and forefoot at an equal distance from the ground to encourage better alignment and form. An Altra EGO Max midsole and Vibram LiteBase outsole complete this fast, lightweight trail runner.
