LARGE-LEAVED LUPINE (Lupinus polyphyllus)
The many-leaved lupine is an herbaceous perennial that grows between 2 to 5 feet tall with a large spike of purple-blue flowers and large dark green palmately divided leaves.
This striking plant flowers in June and prefers to grow in sunny or partly shaded spots with moist to slightly dry soils.
Lupines are beloved by bumblebees and are also used a host plant for some butterfly species.
