CIDER fans soon have another tipple to choose from as Kopparberg is launching a cherry flavour.

It combines the flavours of the sweet fruit and hints of apple, according to the Swedish cider brand.

The new tipple will be available as 500ml bottles and 10x330ml packs, and comes with Kopparberg's typical alcohol by volume (ABV) of 4 per cent.

It'll roll out in the big four supermarkets' stores and websites from next month, starting with Tesco on February 3.

Asda shoppers can then get their hands on the flavour from March 2, while Sainsbury's and Morrisons are launching it on March 8 and 30, respectively.

The 500ml bottles will cost £2.20, or you can get three for £5 at Morrisons and Tesco.

Or if you're keen to stock up, Asda will be selling packs of 10 330ml bottles for £12.

Kopparberg says the cider is best enjoyed served over ice.

The only other similar cider up for grabs in the big four supermarkets is by Old Mout, and it tastes of cherries and berries.

This comes with the same ABV of 4 per cent and can be found for £1.80 per 500ml at Asda and Sainsbury's.

Rob Salvesen, head of marketing at Kopparberg, said: "We know drinkers love our original sweet apple cider flavour and we’ve combined this with a blend of refreshing cherry for those looking for something new.

"It’s the perfect drink to enjoy with family and friends and we look forward to drinkers across the UK enjoying the new variant in the lead up to the summer."

In August last year, Kopparberg also launched a rosé cider.

Plus it combined its famous strawberry and lime flavour with gin to launch a pink spirit.

This was then followed by a second gin which tastes like its mixed fruit cider.

Kopparberg now does PINK GIN – and we've sampled it!
