All about the Eiffel Tower illuminated in the colors of Europe.

The Eiffel Tower has paid homage to Europe and has been illuminated in the colors of Europe twice in its history.

From July 1, 2008, and during the duration of the French presidency of the European Union, each evening, the Tower was adorned at nightfall with a blue luminous dressing decorated with the 12 yellow stars of the European flag. The usual sparkling of the Tower during the first 5 minutes of each hour is maintained.

Fourteen years later, a similar illumination was put in place in January 2022 to once again celebrate the launch of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Every evening from December 31, 2021 until January 31, 2022, the Eiffel Tower swaps its golden lighting for a splendid blue color as soon as night falls, accompanied by the 12 stars of the European flag also lit up. The Tower retains its twinkle for 5 minutes every hour until 1 a.m.
