A linden with a uniform manner of growth and a broad, pyramidal crown. The trunk is light grey and later grooved. Unlike the species, the young twigs are a greenish colour. The leaves are heart-shaped with a tapered top and a slanted heart-shaped base. The leaf edge is sharply serrated. The upper side of the leaf is brighter green than those of the species, while the underside is light green with soft hair. The leaves do not fall off until late in the autumn. The aromatic flowers grow in pendulous umbels of 3 to 5 together, the stemmed bract is approx. 5 cm. 'Delft' is fairly unsusceptible to aphids. Winter hardiness zone: 4
