Miner’s lettuce
This annual herb is fast growing up to 1-1.5 ft. tall x 1 ft. wide. It blooms from winter to spring with tiny five-petaled white flowers. Its leaves are round, succulent, and edible!
Makes for a wonderful trailing groundcover in seasonally moist places. Ideal for the understory of oaks, other trees, or larger shrubs. Also pairs beautifully with a mix of more showy annuals or perennials. Tolerant of a variety of soils as long as winter moisture is available. It tends to be more drought adapted near the coast and other cool-weather areas.
