Description

A slightly aromatic hairy perennial, also called Calamintha chinopodium or Satureja vulgaris. Clinopodium vulgare seems to be the most current name.

Open woodland.

Flowers

Flowers pinkish-purple are borne in whorls, a few flowers in bloom at the same time.

Leaves

Ovate leaf is egg-shaped, wider at base, Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Egg-shaped to oblong, pointed, lightly serrated, on a short stalk.

Nut: 4 small nuts inside the calyx.
