Description

An erect, hairless, bushy plant, resembling the mustard plant. It flowers in spring and again towards the end of summer. Grows in clumps along roadsides, in disturbed areas and between vines.

Flowers

4-petalled, paler yellow flowers than Diplotaxis muralis, long stalked.

Leaves

Lobed leaf shaped with indents and protrusions. Bunched on the stem not in a rosette. Narrow, lobed, greyish-green.

Fruits Seeds

Silique: two fused carpels in the form of a narrow pod, straight, flat, up to 5 cm.

Medical

Leaves: rich in vitamin C, sulphur and mineral salts.
