Description
As with all mints, it has a creeping rootstock. Leaves are strongly minty. Damp habitats.

The flowers are pinkish-white in dense, tapering spikes.

Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Long, wider in the middle, pointed, serrated, white hairy beneath, 5-9 cm.
Fruits Seeds
Nut: 1-4 small nuts that do not split open when ripe, enclosed within the calyx.
Edible
Leaves: in Indian chutneys and as a substitute for peppermint oil in confectionary.
Medical
Leaves: in tea to treat fever, headaches and digestive problems. Not suitable for pregnant women, in large doses it could cause a miscarriage.
