Description

The stems of Picris hieracioides are usually branched and stiff, wiry and rough to the touch. Bracts in 3 layers, inner ones erect, outer ones variable, spreading or curved.

Flowers with bright yellow florets in several layers. Each floret is toothed, outer ones often tinged reddish.
