Description
The stems of Picris hieracioides are usually branched and stiff, wiry and rough to the touch. Bracts in 3 layers, inner ones erect, outer ones variable, spreading or curved.
Flowers
Flowers with bright yellow florets in several layers. Each floret is toothed, outer ones often tinged reddish.
Leaves
Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Long, pointed, toothed or not, upper leaves smaller, clasping the stem.
