Description
In its fresh form it will not cause much harm to horses as it is unpleasant to the taste. But if it gets into hay, it has lost its taste but keeps its toxicity and is poisonous.
Flowers
Flowers are in flat-topped clusters, deep yellow disk florets with bright yellow ray florets.
Leaves
Pinnatisect leaf is deeply lobed, almost to the central midrib. Lobed almost to central midrib, toothed, mid-green.
Fruits Seeds
Achene: a cluster of 1-seeded fruit with tufts of fine hair.
Medical
Whole plant gathered just before flowering, dried: used externally as a poultice for burns and sores.
