PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – The Coast Guard is searching for a 19-year-old man who disappeared in the Gulf of Mexico off Front Beach Road earlier Friday night.

Panama City Beach Police say two young men got caught out in the rough surf and one of them got back to safety near Sandpiper Beach Resort.

The other is still missing. They are trolling the water looking for him at the time of writing.

Double red flags have been flying and are expected to be that way Saturday as well.

Double red flags mean stay out of the water!

The surf is too rough and rip currents are bad.

Again, check the red flags before you head to the beach tomorrow.

You can sit or walk on the sand but must stay out of the water.
