Newly opened Short North spot offers bento boxes and upscale sushi

There’s a new spot in the Short North to get your sushi fix.

Domo Sushi Kitchen & Bar recently opened on July 24th, with many Yelp reviewers raving about their upscale sushi, huge variety of items, and their bento boxes. “Food there is fire,” said one review.

The menu consists of seasonal and sustainably sourced sushi, nigiri, and sashimi options, along with numerous entrees like the Berkshire Tonkatsu (fried pork, white rice, pickled cucumbers, radish, Japanese potato salad, scallions, tonkatsu sauce, and miso soup), and even bento box options.

Vegetarian/vegan options are available too, including the Tofu Bento Box, Tofu Teriyaki, and the Midori Goddess Roll (with sweet potato, enoki mushroom, onion tempura, avocado, crispy quinoa, sweet soy, goddess dressing). There’s an array of vegetable rolls and appetizers sans meat or fish, too!

“With almost a decade of experience cooking in the finest restaurants and making sushi, our chef is excited to present their vision to you and all our guests. Our caring and committed staff make sure you have a fantastic experience,” says Domo’s website.

Many might be familiar with Domo’s building, which used to house the popular restaurant, Nida’s Thai on High. Nida’s remained open in the Short North for 15 years before saying their final goodbye last December.
